Distiller – Full-time

We are looking for a can-do Distiller to join our unique distillery in Galloway, South West Scotland. We currently produce award-winning Gin & Vodka, and are completing the infrastructure to start development on our Single Malt Scotch Whisky. A great opportunity to help shape our future production and become a valued member of one of Scotland’s most awarded distilleries.

Responsible for:

  • Day-to-day operations
  • Execute the operational plans
  • Quality control
  • Uphold all regulations and legislations
  • Planning all distilling schedules
  • Managing the production team

Key to the role:

  • Commercial experience in the craft of distillation and managing production (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience in distilling or brewing (preferred but not essential)
  • A flexible and “can do” attitude to work.
  • Passion for achieving quality
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to lead
  • Methodical, logical, organised and efficient, work on their own initiative with a high level of attention to detail

Operations Manager – Full-time

We are looking for a successful and proven Operations Manager to join our distillery in Galloway, South West Scotland. Receiving 20k+ visitors a year at our visitor centre & cafe, we currently produce award-winning Gin & Vodka, and are completing the infrastructure to start development on our Single Malt Scotch Whisky. A great opportunity to help shape our future production and become a valued member of one of Scotland’s most awarded distilleries.

Crucial to the role is working within our brand standards, effectively managing the day to day running of Crafty Distillery, overseeing the smooth running of our Tree bar & Café including any tastings or events booked. Maximising revenue potentials and ensuring a 5 star experience to all visitors. This role also includes but is not limited to rota’s, staff forecasting, P&L targets, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, inventory, and supply management, tour’s, training and upholding regulation & legislation.

Key to the role:

  • Lead the team by setting a positive example, performance managing as appropriate
  • Effectively manage overtime, lieu time, holidays as required by the business and within the budgeted allowance
  • Continuously review and improve internal operations methods
  • To generate new ideas for service and product
  • Personal Licence, including knowledge of HAACP, HS & Fire safety
  • Open and friendly with a desire to deliver exceptional experiences
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
  • Must have previous experience of working in Management with cross over relevancy
  • Knowledge of P&L management
  • Must be able to lead a team by creating the right example, training, motivating and mentoring to achieve desired ends
